Schedule Breakdown: Five thoughts on MSU Basketball’s 2020-21 schedule

Check out my initial five thoughts on Michigan State’s upcoming 2020-21 schedule that was released earlier this week.

College basketball will return next week in a way that none of us have ever seen before amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s still college basketball, and there’s plenty of excitement surrounding Michigan State as we enter the season.

The Spartans normally would release their upcoming schedule months prior to the season, but with the pandemic, there were a number of factors in play resulting in the schedule coming out earlier this week. MSU will play 27 games (seven in non-conference and 20 in Big Ten play) starting with the season-opener against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 25 and ending on March 7, 2021, against Michigan. With a few days to look over the schedule, I’ve been able to put together a few thoughts on the positives, negatives, and just overall fun corks and match-ups ahead of us this season. Here are my five thoughts on the Spartans’ 2020-21 schedule:
