SC State punter bizarrely ditches fake punt by kicking the ball well past the line of scrimmage

College football shenanigans are back, baby!

College football season is back and the shenanigans already have begun.

As Week 1 began across the college football world, the South Carolina State Bulldogs kicked off their season versus the UCF Knights. Already down a touchdown in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were looking for a spark to get their team going when their punter made a pretty questionable decision.

On fourth and 19 at their own 30 yard line, the Bulldogs executed a fake punt to the surprise of many — including the broadcast team! The problem? The punter got past the line of scrimmage then proceeded to punt the ball away, an illegal maneuver in all aspects of the sport. It’s definitely not something you see every day in college football.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the punter was thinking there. Live and learn, I suppose!
