The New York Jets dropped to 1-2 on Sunday after a sloppy 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots, but Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was especially upset with Mac Jones after the game.
And he apparently had good reason.
Speaking to reporters, Gardner said he shoved the Patriots quarterback in the fourth quarter because Jones intentionally tried to hit him in the “private parts.” Video from the game didn’t show anything definitive, but it was clear that something happened to draw the reaction from Gardner who was just standing around until Jones walked by him.
On Monday, Gardner took to social media to argue his case further, but man, someone needs to get him some higher-resolution video.

It appeared that Gardner shared video shot from his phone of the all-22 footage on a separate iPad or laptop. We can see the reflection of the phone next to the blurriest replay of the incident.
Like, it kind of looks like Jones made contact (and he does have a reputation for dirty cheap shots), but it’s so difficult to see what happened.
No penalty was called for the play, but Gardner understandably wants to avoid a fine here. Just all he did was inspire NFL fans to argue what exactly was happening in that video.
Update: Footage from the league, however, was not a great look for Mac Jones.
