The defense of the New York Jets continues to put out stellar performances each and every week. Unfortunately for the defense, the offense continues to put out not-so-stellar performances and thus the Jets sit at 4-5 after a 16-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday night.
Understandably, the defense seems to getting quite frustrated with the results. One example came after the game Sunday with Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.
Gardner was asked if he is surprised by the team’s 4-5 record with how well the defense in playing. Gardner said, “We’re not playing complementary football.” He also said that the defense feels like they have no margin for error but added coaches tell them they can’t lose if their opponents don’t score.

The Jets have allowed under 20 points in five games this season. They are just 3-2 in those games.
The Jets are allowing the sixth-fewest yards per game at 307.8. The offense is mustering the fourth-fewest at 283.1.
There’s no two ways about it. The Jets are struggling on offense, especially in the red zone, and it is costing them points and ultimately wins. What could easily be at least a 6-3 record, maybe even 7-2, is now at 4-5 and the season is starting to become lost. Again.
The Jets have two huge divisional games coming up against the Bills and Dolphins. If things don’t change, the Jets will quickly fall to 4-7 and Aaron Rodgers may start thinking twice about returning to action this season.
