San Francisco 49ers signing Josh Rosen

Is there any chance Josh Rosen could see time against the team that drafted him in 2018? Unlikely.

The quarterback ranks get thinner and thinner as the weeks go by in the NFL season.

The San Francisco 49ers have been depleted as Jimmy Garoppolo has missed much of the season due to injury. Now, Nick Mullens is sidelined, too, with a sprained elbow.

So, C.J. Beathard will likely start for the Niners against the Arizona Cardinals in an NFC West game on Saturday.

The backup? How about SF has signed a former Cardinals first-round draft pick.

Yes, Josh Rosen, who was on the Buccaneers’ practice squad, after failing in Arizona and Miami will be the backup.

And if he sees the field: Revenge Game!

Rosen was the Cardinals’ No. 1 pick in 2018. He spent a year in the desert before being dealt to South Beach, where he was a Dolphin in 2019.

Overall, he is 3-13 as a starter. It would be priceless if he got a chance to face the Cardinals.
