The San Francisco 49ers (0-1) visit the Los Angeles Chargers (1-0) in the second game of the 2021 preseason for both sides. Kickoff at SoFi Stadium is scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the 49ers vs. Chargers odds and lines.
49ers rookie QB Trey Lance, the No. 3 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, was the star of Week 1, despite going just 5-for-14 through the air against the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished with 128 passing yards and a touchdown. Third-string QB Josh Rosen played the bulk of the snaps under center and finished 10-for-15 for 93 yards with a pick.
The Chargers topped the Los Angeles Rams 13-6 as the official road team last week. Reigning Rookie of the Year QB Justin Herbert had the day off as veteran QB Chase Daniel went 15-for-24 for 104 yards in the slow-paced game.

The 49ers (-200) have an implied win probability of 66.67%. Those odds can be seen as a decimal of 1.50 or a fraction of 1/2. San Francisco -4.5 (-105) must win by 5 or more points in order to cover the spread.
The underdog Chargers can cover the spread by losing by 4 or fewer points, winning outright or playing to a tie. They have a modest 38.46% implied win probability with the +160 money line odds.
The -115 odds on the projected total of 34.5 points suggests the Under is the more likely outcome with a total of 34 or fewer points scored. There would need to be 35 or more points scored to cash Over (-105) tickets.
