San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama confirm Spurs headed to France for 2024-25

“We’re going there,” said head coach Gregg Popovich.

The San Antonio Spurs will head to Europe next season to play a game in France, as former NBAer Tony Parker revealed to the media earlier this month, per recent reporting from the Associated Press.

“We’re going there,” said head coach Gregg Popovich. “I’m looking forward to it very much,” added Victor Wembanyama. We still don’t know when, or which other NBA teams will definitely be making the trip with them. But we do know it will be a regular season game, per league commissioner Adam Silver. “I can say that we will be back playing a regular-season game again in Paris (…),” he’s said recently. “Stay tuned in terms of the Spurs playing.”

“Obviously, it’s going to be probably the game or the games where it’s going to be very important for me because of course it’s me coming back (to) where I come from,” offered Wemby on the chance to play in his native land.

“It might be in my city or around the city. It’s going to be very special.”
