The San Antonio Spurs knew they were going into a rebuild, but even they probably hoped they would be a bit better than what they’ve been this season. They’ve been the worst team in the West for almost the entire year, and based on everything we’ve seen, it seemed highly likely that’s where they remain for the rest of the season.
In turn, they should be looking to make significant improvements heading into next year. Wasting any of Victor Wembanyama’s career should be viewed as a huge mistake, even though he’ll only be heading into his sophomore season next year. They should still look to get better.
