Sam Darnold’s uneven game among 4 takeaways from Jets’ Week 13 loss to Raiders

Sam Darnold looks great at times, but also faltered in the Jets last-second loss to the Raiders.

If there was ever a game for the Jets to win, it was this one.

The Jets had Las Vegas dead to rights, one Hail Mary pass away from their first win of the season, and they gave it up. The Raiders exploited a terrible defensive play-call by Gregg Williams and won on a last-second touchdown pass to deny the Jets their first win of the season.

But, at least the first overall pick is still in play.

There was a lot to digest in this game, as the Jets actually played well at times. Sam Darnold looked like himself – good and bad – and the defense continued to disappoint save for the play of Quinnen Williams. All-in-all, the Jets showed they have some makings of a competent team in the future, just not this year.

Here are four takeaways from the Week 13 loss.
