Prediction

Kings 122, Grizzlies 118

Moneyline (ML)

Amid a rash of injuries, the Grizzlies (-182) have dropped four straight games, including a 140-112 beatdown at the hands of the Houston Rockets Wednesday. Their last two losses came by 27 or more points. Luckily for them, no one has gained much ground in the Western Conference playoff race, as only the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-40) won their most recent game.

The KINGS (+150) are 6-4 across their last 10 outings, but they took a 112-108 loss on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder Thursday night, and they’re just 12-19 on the road for the season. They have a slightly better point differential (minus-2.2 to minus-2.5 for the Griz). Sacramento is 4-4 straight up for the season in the second half of back-to-backs with an average point differential of plus-1.4. Memphis is just 3-8 SU with a rest advantage and loses those games by an average of 3.5 PPG. Take the road dogs for the upset as they look to win the season series 3-1.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The moneyline play is more profitable, but the KINGS (+4.5, -115) should also be backed on the spread with 3 points of insurance in the event of a loss. The Kings are 6-2 ATS on the second half of back-to-backs and cover by an average of 8.4 PPG. The Griz are 9-3 ATS as a home favorite, but again, they’re just 5-6 ATS with the rest advantage and fail to cover by 1.1 PPG.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 229.5 (-110). All three head-to-head meetings this season crushed Friday’s projected total, with the last two matchups eclipsing 250 total points. The Grizzlies allowed at least 124 points in three of their last four losses. Sacramento is 5-3 against the O/U when playing the second half of a back-to-back and tops the projections by an average of 2.5 points in those games.
