Ryan Preece gives big update on health after violent wreck at Daytona

Ryan Preece provides a big update on his overall health after the violent wreck at Daytona International Speedway last weekend.

[autotag]Ryan Preece[/autotag] suffered one of the scariest wrecks in the NextGen car at Daytona International Speedway last weekend when the No. 41 car flipped 10 times. It was an intense accident that resulted in Preece being taken to a local hospital. Fortunately for the Stewart-Haas Racing driver, he was released from the hospital the next day.

Six days later, Stewart-Haas Racing announced that Preece had been cleared to compete in this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway. It was great news to hear after watching his violent wreck. In fact, Preece went on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio to discuss the process and how he is feeling ahead of the Cook Out Southern 500.

“Yeah, I’m good,” Preece said. “It was almost a fight, in the joking sense of I was ready to go do tests and everything on Sunday to make sure I was cleared but we wanted to go through all the steps. We did it twice just to make sure there were no symptoms that appeared later in the week.”

“Everything’s good, I feel great, no concussion, and I’m ready to get out there and go race…There’s nothing stopping me from racing this weekend.”

It is very good to know that Preece was able to escape that wreck without any injuries. This shows how NASCAR’s handling of the NextGen car has improved after several complaints during the 2022 season. The fact that Preece was able to walk out of that incident and race the next weekend just represents the safety advancements the sport has made as of late.
