Ryan Day celebrated Ohio State’s dramatic win at Notre Dame by lashing out at Lou Holtz (?!)

Tell ’em what you really think, Ryan Day!

Well, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day clearly didn’t forget about what former college football coach Lou Holtz said about his Buckeyes earlier this week.

After Ohio State’s dramatic finish against Notre Dame on the road, Day called out Holtz over comments the former Irish coach made about Ohio State’s lack of physicality causing them to lose to top college football programs.

“Notre Dame is a better football team than Ohio State,” Holtz told The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, saying the Buckeyes “better bring their lunch” because of the full day of work Notre Dame was going to put them through.

Well, Holtz would have to eat his words as Ohio State would top Notre Dame with a physical touchdown run on third down at the goal line.

After the victory, Day blasted Holtz for saying his Buckeyes weren’t tough enough to hang with the best teams in the sport.

“I’d like to know where Lou Holtz is right now… What he said about our team, I cannot believe,” Day said in his postgame interview. “This is a tough team right here. We’re proud to be from Ohio, and it’s always been Ohio against the world, and it’ll continue to be Ohio against the world.”

Whew, Day did not hold back here about Holtz going after his team’s toughness.

If you’re going to talk about Ohio State going ahead, you’re going to have to assume Day is listening in, and that he’ll be sure to call you out on it on national television if he gets the chance.
