On Tuesday, Rutgers baseball landed 2025 recruit Anthony Frobose. The New York native from Yorktown Heights, New York, is a two-way player for Lakeland High School. Frobose is an up-the-middle player, either shortstop or second base and is a strong right-handed pitcher.
Frobose is a versatile player with a high ceiling. Defensively, he is smooth and has a powerful arm when throwing across the diamond. According to Baseball Factory, the new Scarlet Knight received an above-average grade for his fielding ability. When batting, Frobose uses his lower body to spray the ball around the field.
According to the Prep Baseball Report, the 2025 prospect has a maximum hand speed of 22.3 MPH and a maximum bat speed of 72 MPH. He offers power at the plate with a maximum exit velocity of 95 MPH. Also, Frobose averages an exit velocity of 92.6 MPH and a maximum distance of 370 feet.

This 2025 recruit dominates batters with a strong fastball and curveball on the mound. According to Prep Baseball Report, Frobose’s fastball averages a velocity of 85.9 to 88.2 MPH and a maximum of 88.5 MPH. His curveball averages 69.5 to 72.5 MPH with a spin rate of 1956.
The 6-foot, 165-pound prospect recorded a 7.10 60-yard dash, showing off his top speed, acceleration, and stamina. Frobose will join fellow 2025 recruits Julius Rosado and Max Dantoni at the shortstop position, with options to contribute elsewhere.
