Rutgers football recruiting: Philadelphia offensive lineman Michael Carroll previews upcoming visit

Michael Carroll

Offensive lineman Michael Carroll will be visiting Rutgers football next weekend. The Philadelphia standout is starting to see things pick up with several Power Five colleges.

Carroll, who plays for La Salle College (Philadelphia, PA), is a 6-foot-5 guard who currently holds an offer from Temple. But other schools are beginning to get involved in his recruitment.

This weekend’s visit, Carroll said, is another step to continue his relationship with the program. He also will be able to see Samuel Brown, who was his teammate in high school.

Brown is a rising sophomore running back at Rutgers.

“I’m really looking forward to building a relationship with the Rutgers coaching staff, the offensive line coaches, and head coach Greg Schiano,” Carroll told Rutgers Wire.

“I am hoping to go see the wonderful facilities that Rutgers has to offer, the way they run practice, and seeing my old teammate Samuel Joseph Brown.”

Carroll has taken recent visits to James Madison, Maryland and Boston College. He is a three-star recruit according to Rivals, where he is the No. 12 prospect in Pennsylvania.

Things with Rutgers, Carroll said, are starting to pick up, leading him to be excited about his visit this upcoming weekend to Rutgers.

“Things with Rutgers have been going smooth. I have just been hearing from them recently,” Carroll said. “I have been talking to Matt Hewitt offensive quality control, assistant tight ends coach.”
