It is either a late addition to the class of 2022 or an early committmentfor next season’s recruiting class. Either way, Rutgers basketball is adding an intriguing and talented piece in Antonio Chol.
A bit under-the-radar, Chol is a 6-foot-8 forward from Minnesota Prepatory Academy (Minneapolis, MN). He is reclassifying to the class of 2022 according to Jerry Carino.
He was the fifth-best player in New York according to 247Sports before his move to Minnesota. Chol was a three-star recruit according to their rankings.
He held offers from Akron, Buffalo, Loyola-Marymount, New Mexico and St. Bonaventure among others according to Rivals.
He announced his commitment late on Friday:

Chol has tremendous length and his defending on and off the ball is impressive. He is a good rebounder and shot blocker. But he has some nice savvy offensively.

His footwork is solid and he runs the court very well. He has shown some good range to his game as well, with a nice jump shot in addition to an ability to play above the rim.
He joins a 2022 recruiting class at Rutgers that includes three-stars Derek Simpson (Medford, N.J.) and Antwone Woolfolk (Cleveland, OH).
