Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos owe us all an apology

Do the right thing, Broncos.

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning.

The Denver Broncos did it to us again.

For the second week in a row Russell Wilson and his teammates went on national TV and proceeded to play one of the worst, most boring football games that you’ll ever see. It was painful. It was cringe-inducing. It was bad for everyone’s health – both physically and mentally.

Seriously, last night’s game against the Chargers (who “won” 19-16 in OT) was somehow just as bad (if not worse!) as the Broncos’ Thursday Night Football game against the Colts the week before, and that game was the definition of disgusting.

You know what should happen now? A few things.

1. Wilson, who thankfully didn’t say his cheesy line after the loss, and the Broncos should be forced to hold a press conference that is aired live on all major television channels and they should apologize to each and every one of us for making us watch those two games.

2. The Broncos should demand that the NFL takes them off any more primetime games (they are currently scheduled to play the Chiefs on SNF on Dec. 11) for the rest of the year.  Also, they should do the right thing and tell the schedule makers to keep them out of primetime for all of next year, too.

3. The Broncos should just Venmo us all at least $20 bucks for our time that we wasted watching their very bad football games.

Will any of that happen? Probably not. Should all of that happen? Absolutely!

How bad was Wilson last night? He completely forgot how to play football in the second half.

That is gross.

The Broncos had the ball two times in OT and went 3 and out both times. Then they fumbled a punt to set up the Chargers’ game-winning field goal.

I told you it was gross!

And you know what? The Chargers were just as bad. Justin Herbert has a lot to work on after that one and his team was lucky to escape with a win in OT because nobody deserved a W in that stinker.

OK, Broncos. It’s your move now and it’s time for you to do the right thing and at least apologize to all of us.

Because man, that was not a good time!
