Former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will soon be entering his third act in the NFL. After a brilliant 10-year run in Seattle and a dismal two-season stint with the Broncos, Wilson has been released and is free to speak with teams ahead of the official start of free agency next week.
While Wilson is a far cry from the quarterback he was at his peak with the Seahawks, there are still at least a handful of teams who would be getting a big upgrade in their backfield if they were to sign Wilson. One of them is the Steelers, who have arguably the weakst quarterback room in the league – consisting of Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph now that Mitch Trubisky has signed with the Bills.
Apparently there’s mutual interest between Pittsburgh and Wilson and the two sides are planning to meet, per Gerry Dulac.

Despite their handicap at the game’s most important position, the Steelers went 10-7 last season and secured a playoff spot in a murderer’s row AFC North division.
All together, Wilson has started 188 games in his NFL career, posting a 115-72-1 record. He’s also made nine Pro Bowl teams, but the most recent one came in 2021.
