Russell Westbrook has been on quite a tear lately. He’s getting triple-doubles left and right and has helped propel the Wizards into a six winning streak.
A big part of it has been his play in the fourth quarter. He was incredible against the Warriors on Wednesday night during winning time. He scored eight of his 14 points from the game in the fourth quarter and went 3-7 in the period.
That’s been what Westbrook has been doing all season in close games. He’s been one of the best closers in the NBA when things are neck and neck.
Westbrook is the most efficient scorer in the clutch this season with a 65.9% eFG% and 105 total points. That’s…really good.

Surprising, right? A reporter told him that he had the highest clutch field goal percentage in the league this season and Russ seemed pretty surprised himself.
So surprised, in fact,
that he pulled out an old meme.
Russell Westbrook when asked what he makes of leading the NBA in clutch FG%: "Oh, I know what I do. I ain't worried about what anybody else is thinking." pic.twitter.com/eSQHnMC0oh

“Oh, really? Ahhh, that’s interesting. I didn’t know that.”
This is not a drill, y’all. He really pulled the meme out. The reporter asked him what he makes of it and then he followed up with a common Westbrook-ism.
“Oh, I know what I do. I ain’t worried about everybody else thinking. That’s one thing about me, it doesn’t really matter what nobody else thing. But it’s OK. Just keep doing what I’m doing, keep my head straight.”
Classic Russ, fam. You gotta love it.
