Beyonce’s Break My Soul might be on its way to Song of the Summer status — and rightfully so, it’s so good — and maybe Russell Westbrook will help with that.
On Tuesday morning, the Los Angeles Lakers point guard who’s had a rough year on the court and has been fending off critics calling him “Westbrick” posted a photo of himself singing along to the song. The English major in me is reading very much into him singing “you won’t break my soul,” especially because a little while later, news dropped from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowsi that the guard would exercise his option to return to the Lakers.
In the process, he’ll make $47.1 million this year.

That’s a good reason to sing.
