Running back Trevor Etienne chooses Florida over LSU and Clemson

Four-Star running back Trevor Etienne will go to Florida over LSU and Clemson.

Trevor Etienne made his college choice on Saturday before the All-American Bowl. Etienne chose Florida over Clemson and LSU.

“I knew I wanted to commit at the game,” Etienne told AllGators after practice on Wednesday. “So kind of like a relief, really, and it’s a dream come true at the same time.”

Many thought Clemson and LSU had a leg up on Florida. Clemson because his brother went there, and LSU because Etienne is from Louisiana.

“It’s something new,” Etienne said. “I wanted to see myself doing something new and doing something I haven’t experienced. My brother went to Clemson. I’ve been to LSU a couple of times. I’ve never really been to Florida. That’s something I want to experience.”

Etienne is ranked the No. 183 recruit and 15th best running back in the 247Sports composite. The running back played three years on varsity at Jennings High School in Jennings, Louisiana. Etienne rushed for 4,629 yards and 59 rushing touchdowns.

Etienne’s brother Travis played his college ball at Clemson and is now in the NFL as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor is much bigger than Travis, and he plays like it; high school defenders looked much smaller and just bounced right off Etienne when they tried to make tackles. He likes to run downhill and get in the open field.
