The Wisconsin Badgers are set for their first full season with Luke Fickell at head coach in 2023 and their running backs are as good as any. Big Game Boomer ranked his top 50 RB duos in college football, placing the Badgers’ duo of Braelon Allen and Chez Mellusi as the seventh best pair.
In 2022, Allen produced 1,242 yards and 11 touchdowns on 230 carries over 12 games while Mellusi added 473 yards and two scores over nine contests. The two athletes will be entering their third campaign as backfield mates and will look to continue their strong production.
Overall, Allen and Mellusi were the fourth highest ranked duo in the Big Ten, sitting behind Michigan (1st overall, Corum and Edwards), Ohio State (2nd overall, Henderson and Williams) and Penn State (4th overall, Singleton and Allen).
