Former Alabama running back Najee Harris had a phenomenal final season with the Crimson Tide, being the lead rusher on an offense that had both strong passing and running games.
With his success, the running back finished No. 5 in the final Heisman voting, and he’s likely cemented himself as a first-round selection.
In recent years, running backs have not been seen as draftable players in the first round. Teams will select a back in the early rounds beyond the first, or solve their backfield issues with a free agent.
However, with his abilities and proven skill sets, Najee is the type of running back that will likely not slip past the first 32 picks.
Ali Ashraf, of Loyal Network, claims that the New York Jets have reportedly met with Najee.

Other outlets have not corroborated the report, but the Jets having interest in Najee would not be out of the ordinary.
While the team is in the process of rebuilding their franchise, though it has felt this way for years, eyes are focused on their quarterback situation. Will Sam Darnold be under center for the team, or will they look to bring in a new face?
What’s being overlooked is their need for a strong and consistent running back.
Assuming the Jets don’t trade away their first-round picks, they will have the No. 2 and No. 23 overall selections.
Najee has been tied to picks as high as No. 18 with the Miami Dolphins. However, 23 would not be seen as a reach, assuming he’s still available.
Roll Tide Wire will continue to publish any updates regarding Alabama players entering the 2021 NFL draft.
