Shane Carter – Andrej Karic, OT
Samuel Cosmi departing to the 2021 NFL draft has left a large void to fill on the offensive line and will likely cause a few players to shift around. Andrej Karic is talented enough to play either tackle position if given the opportunity. He played in three games last year as a true freshman in reserve against UTEP, filled in for Derek Kerstetter after his injury against Kansas State, and eventually started in the Alamo Bowl against Colorado. In his limited playing time, he did not allow a single quarterback pressure.
Heading into the 2021 season, it appears that Karic is a favorite to start at the right tackle spot with a new coaching staff and quarterback under center. If he’s able to fill in and adapt to the changes the way he showed himself in the final two games of the season, then he could potentially add to the legacy list of Longhorn linemen.
