The Arizona Cardinals added some potential depth at outside linebacker with the awarding of a waiver claim. The team announced Tuesday it was awarded outside linebacker Ron’Dell Carter, who had been released by the Houston Texans.
Carter spent time last year on the Cardinals’ practice squad before the Texans signed him to their active roster in December. He appeared in one game, playing 17 defensive snaps and three on special teams.
He is 6-3 and 270 lbs and played collegiately at Rutgers and James Madison. In his final year of college in 2019, he had 12 sacks and 27 tackles for loss.
He will compete for a spot on the roster.
