Roll Tide Wire Player of the Game: Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs deserves some serious recognition for his performance against Texas.

Nick Saban and the top-ranked Crimson Tide had to claw their way back against the Texas Longhorns on the road in the highly-anticipated Week 2 matchup.

Overall, Alabama did not look good. The offense couldn’t find its rhythm, the defense didn’t know how to handle Bijan Robinson and penalties on both sides of the ball led to some serious issues.

One bright spot, though, was newcomer Jahmyr Gibbs. The former Georgia Tech running back, who transferred to Alabama in the offseason, put on a display of what it means to be a versatile player.

He led the team in receiving yards and return yards. He also flashed some strength while carrying the ball. A true triple threat.

Gibbs touched the ball 20 times for 132 all-purpose yards. It may not seem like much, but his efforts played a key role in the Crimson Tide’s win.
