Rogue Legacy 2 leaves early access later this month

The full release is less than a month away.

After several years in early access, the full version of Rogue Legacy 2 will finally release later this month.

On Thursday, Cellar Door Games announced that Rogue Legacy 2 is coming out on April 28, 2022, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Anyone unfamiliar with the original Rogue Legacy can pick it up for free on the Epic Games Store this week.

Rogue Legacy 2 builds on the original’s unique mashup of metroidvania puzzle-platforming with randomized elements of rogue-lites. The sequel adds more weapons, skills, classes, and 3D character models. Everyone was talking about Rogue Legacy when it came out back in 2013, so the sequel is a big deal.

On PC, Rogue Legacy 2 has been on Steam’s early access program since September of 2020, so version 1.0’s arrival is a long time coming. The reception from fans who bought the early build is glowing, as Rogue Legacy 2 currently has a “very positive” user rating on Steam.

PlayStation and Nintendo fans might be sad to know that Rogue Legacy 2  isn’t launching on their platforms of choice. However, the first game eventually made it on PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Switch, and many others. So you never know!
