We are looking at another mock draft roundup to see where former Auburn Tigers cornerback Roger McCreary is projected. In this particular mock, we see CB1 on the move out west.
Pro Football Focus dropped McCreary down into the early part of the second round. He lands at No. 43 overall to the Seattle Seahawks. McCreary is the only former Auburn Tiger to be listed in the two-round mock draft from Austin Gayle.
The Seahawks defense was among the top 12 in points per game allowed, but that is where the good news stops for Ken Norton’s unit. They were No. 28 in total yards allowed. Seattle allowed the second-most passing yards in the NFL with 4,513. The defense was also bottom 10 in interceptions forced.
Given the amount of talent at wide receiver in the NFC West alone, the Seahawks need to severely upgrade their secondary. McCreary would be a step in the right direction. After selecting North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell in the first round, Seattle focused on defense with back-to-back selections in the second round.
The Hawks’ top back-end defender is Quandre Diggs at safety but he is a free agent. He finished with five interceptions and no one on the team had more than two. McCreary would be a massive addition to the group with his ability to get his hands on the ball. No other defender in the Power Five over the last two seasons got to as many pass attempts as McCreary.

Provided that Seattle gets McCreary, they would immediately give their secondary a boost.
