For the 2023-24 season, the Houston Rockets will have new City Edition jerseys and a custom court at Toyota Center, which will be used for home games in the NBA’s new in-season tournament.
The splashy court, which is largely red with a blue stripe down the middle, features the unique “H-Town” font and branding that will also accompany this season’s City Edition uniforms.
After two years of wearing pinstriped blue City Edition uniform sets — in homage to the mid-to-late 1990s era of the Rockets — this year’s set is primarily white and red and appears to be in tribute to the “Phi Slama Jama” era at the University of Houston.
That era was defined by a pair of future Rockets and eventual Hall of Famers, Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. Tilman Fertitta, who now owns the Rockets, has extensive ties to the school, as well.
As of Monday, Oct. 30, here’s a look what we’ve learned to date of the franchise’s new 2023-24 court and threads.
