Robert Woods sits out first practice with thigh injury, still expected to play vs. Jets

Robert Woods’ thigh was bothering him Wednesday so the Rams held him out of practice.

After playing last Thursday night, the Los Angeles Rams had a few extra days to rest and recover before their Week 15 game against the New York Jets. And considering there were no notable injuries to come out of their win over the Patriots, the injury report to open this week was light.

The only player to be hindered by an injury was Robert Woods, who sat out the first practice with a thigh issue. Sean McVay isn’t concerned about it, though, saying it was merely a precaution after Woods’ thigh started bothering him.

“His thigh was bothering him a little bit, so he didn’t participate,” McVay said. “I don’t expect it to affect his game status at all, but with a player like him you want to be smart. Rather be safe than sorry with him.”

Aaron Donald had a scheduled rest day, as he typically does on Wednesdays. Nsimba Webster missed practice due to personal reasons, McVay said, though he didn’t provide any further details on the punt returner beyond that.
