More Joe Burrow love from Gronk before free agency starts.

If the Cincinnati Bengals want to sign tight end Rob Gronkowski in free agency, it sure sounds like the future Hall of Famer might like the idea.

Before the Super Bowl, Gronk had openly said if he had to play with one non-Tom Brady quarterback, it would be Joe Burrow.

And asked about that topic again in an interview with CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr right before free agency starts, Gronk dropped the following:

“I love the way Joe Burrow presents himself on the field. Regardless of the outcome, the Super Bowl was a great game and he left his best out there.

“I’ve watched him since college, he’s confident in the pocket, and he just slings it out into the play. I love his swag, he’s killing it right now and I think we’re going to see a bright future ahead for him.

We went deep on the pros and cons of signing Gronkowski in free agency already. But it boils down to this — if a 32-year-old modern great at his position views the Bengals as a contender and wants to join up at an affordable cost, why not?

Interest from someone like Gronk, specifically because of Burrow, speaks to how well and true the Burrow effect is for the Bengals.

And at tight end, the Bengals might have a tough decision to make either way with C.J. Uzomah set to hit the open market.

Gronkowski might choose to retire again, of course. But if he’s got a short list, it would appear the Bengals are firmly on it.
