Rob Gronkowski: Joe Judge was ‘made for the game of football’

Retired New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski believes New York Giants head coach Joe Judge was “made for the game of football.”

Retired New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski thinks New York Giants head coach Joe Judge is “out of control.”

Allow that to sink in for a moment. Gronk — hard partying, wild and crazy Gronk — thinks the calm, cool, collected and methodical Joe Judge is out of control… In the best of ways.

“Joe Judge is a great guy,” a laughing Gronk said, via NJ Advance Media. “He’s out of control and I love it.

“He’s out of control in all ways. He’s fun to be around, he has a lot of great jokes and they’re funny … He had me laughing many times in meetings.”

A starting tight end with only around 100 special teams snaps in his career, Gronk didn’t have a whole lot of time to work with Judge, but when he did, it was clear to him that the Bill Belichick protege was made for the game of football. Literally.

“Yeah, he was the special teams coach but let me tell you, he knew the special teams inside and out,” Gronkowski said. “He knew where every single player needed to be on every single play. It was unbelievable. And he knew it like that (snaps fingers). He knew it in a split second, so it wasn’t like he had to think of where this player needed to be, he knew it in a split second. You just knew he’s made for the game of football.

“He’s a great coach for the Giants organization. Just the passion that he brings to the game is tremendous. He has so much passion for the game and that’s what you need if you wanna be a coach. You gotta love the game of football to the max and that’s what he does, he loves the game. He knows the game of football inside and out.”

What more even needs to be said? Gronk’s take on Judge may very well be the most ringing endorsement yet.
