R.J. Davis, UNC have ‘championship or bust’ mentality

UNC basketball guard R.J. Davis says it’s ‘Championship or Bust’ for this team after a Final Four run a year ago.

When the UNC basketball program decided to run it back this year by returning four starters plus most of the bench from a Final Four run last year, the expectations immediately were getting back there and finishing the job.

The Tar Heels enter this year as one of the favorites to not only win the Atlantic Coast Conference but the national championship this season. And rightfully so. With everyone back, the Tar Heels have a stacked roster and one of the best in college basketball. While they will take their lumps at some point, this is a good enough team to win it all.

And that’s how they feel as well.

During the ACC Media Days on Wednesday, UNC guard R.J. Davis echoed that and told the media that it is indeed ‘Championship or Bust’ for this team here in 2022-23:

Davis is one of the starters that returned and could be a catalyst to this offense, expected to start at point guard for Hubert Davis’ squad. But he’s not the only talented player on the roster.

He will be joined by [autotag]Armando Bacot[/autotag], [autotag]Caleb Love[/autotag], and [autotag]Leaky Black[/autotag], plus transfer Pete Nance and key bench players like Puff Johnson, Dontrez Styles, and D’Marco Dunn.

Tipoff can’t get here soon enough as the excitement is incredibly high right now.
