This is never something you want to report on, no matter the circumstance.
Of course, Michigan football fans aren’t exactly fans of anything Ohio State, but some things are bigger than the rivalry. We see examples of the Wolverines and Buckeyes coming together in many ways, including several charitable fundraising drives that take place near The Game. On the field might be a different story, but there’s a lot of respect between the two teams that comprise the greatest rivalry in all of sports.
And with the horrible news that broke on Saturday morning, we’re seeing it once more with several Wolverines stepping up to wish condolences.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins was struck by a car in South Florida and killed on Saturday morning. He was 24 years old.
Dwayne Haskins, a standout at Ohio State before becoming Washington’s first-round pick and playing in Pittsburgh, died this morning when he got hit by a car in South Florida, per his agent Cedric Saunders. Haskins would have turned 25 years old on May 3.

When it comes to the rivalry, the maize and blue faithful want to beat the Buckeyes on the field. When it’s off the field things that happen, the Wolverines send their respects — including in cases like this.
