Rising five-star recruit expects to land offer from UNC basketball

A five-star in-state recruit hopes to land an offer from the UNC Basketball program after taking an unofficial visit.

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program is starting to see their 2024 recruiting board take shape. The Tar Heels have a few offers out to prospects in the class and one in-state player could be the next to land one.

Five-star shooting guard Paul McNeil has really elevated his game over the past year and now he’s reaping the rewards with interest from programs across the country. And the Rockingham, North Carolina native could see the Tar Heels offer him if he keeps it up.

McNeil caught up with DuShawn London of 247Sports to talk his recruitment, and in the interview, he talked about his visit to UNC and how he expects an offer from the program soon:

UNC: “It was pretty up there. We walked through the facilities and I spoke with the coaches. They want me to improve on my game and get better and better and time goes on they’ll offer me a scholarship. I like with them how they used Caleb Love and they let him rock out and control the game. I feel like I can do that better.”

McNeil has taken unofficial visits to UNC, Clemson, NC State and Wake Forest so far. He’s also drawing interest from Indiana, LSU, Florida State and Missouri among others.

The Tar Heels certainly have a need at the guard position in 2024 and it sounds like there’s interest here on both sides. Now lets see if he finally gets that offer.
