Rich Eisen of NFL Network has thoughts on how Caleb Williams can make sure he gets picked No. 1 in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night, April 25.
The Chicago Bears are on the clock. Everyone is waiting to see if another NFL team will make a king’s ransom offer for either Caleb Williams or Justin Fields. The Bears are in position to command a massive asking price and must not settle for less.
The timetable for a possible Fields trade — which would indicate the Bears are sold on taking Caleb Williams — was floated recently, as noted by Steelers Wire:
NFL free agency starts on March 13 but the legal tampering period kicks off on March 11. This means over the course of the next two weeks we will see a lot of teams releasing and trading players to free up salary cap before the shopping blitz begins.
The name most Pittsburgh Steelers fans are most interested in when it comes to trade is Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. Bears general manager Ryan Poles spoke to the media on Tuesday and said that if the team plans to draft a quarterback at No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL draft, they want to do their best to trade Fields before free agency begins.
There you have it: March 13. Caleb Williams will be watching, along with the rest of us.
