Report: Wisconsin may play a road game at Lambeau Field in 2024

The 2024 Wisconsin Badgers may play a road game at Lambeau Field in 2024, according to a report from Wildcat Report’s Louie Vaccher.

Vaccher wrote on ‘X’ Monday night that Northwestern athletic director Derrick Gragg ‘told Northwestern alumni in New York City last week that Northwestern will play a home game at Lambeau Field this year. He didn’t mention the opponent, but it would likely be Wisconsin on October 19.’

This report is not close to being confirmed by either school. But as BadgerExtra’s Jake Kocorowski put out, it is noteworthy that Packers president Mark Murphy was once Northwestern’s athletic director from 2003-2007.

Wisconsin’s 2024 football schedule is one of the toughest in the conference. The thought of playing Northwestern at Lambeau Field — a venue that is certainly friendly to Wisconsin — is certainly more attractive than that of playing the Wildcats at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois.

The Packers’ 2024 schedule is not yet released, but October 19 assumes to be a weekend when the team plays on the road.

Given both Wisconsin and Northwestern’s proximity to Green Bay, Wisconsin, this game shouldn’t be a challenge to pull off. This sounds like a terrific way to add juice to a game that usually lacks it.
