Report: Wisconsin basketball still expecting to play their opening game at home against Tennessee

The Badgers are expecting to play their opening game of the season

Although we are still lacking many answers surrounding a college basketball season and its timeline, Tennessee basketball coach Rick Barnes provided information on the early season clash between the Volunteers and the Badgers that is scheduled for November 11 at the Kohl Center.

According to a report from SI’s Volunteer Country, Wisconsin is still expecting to play Tennessee at home on November 11.

“Maybe being an optimist, I believe we’re going to start on time,” Barnes told Tennessee media this morning. “I think if football goes well, some of these schools will reconsider. When the Big 10 made their announcement, we got a call from Wisconsin saying, ‘Hey, we plan on playing here.'”

The game is scheduled as the second leg of a home and home series, with Wisconsin winning the initial matchup last season at Tennessee 68-48 last December.

Hopefully Wisconsin and Tennessee can still open the season as planned in November, as we await news from the conferences and the NCAA surrounding the start of college basketball.
