Report: Warriors mentioned as a potential destination for Chris Paul

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN mentioned the Golden State Warriors as a potential destination for veteran point guard Chris Paul.

A future Hall of Fame point guard will be in the market for a new team during the summer. After three seasons with the Phoenix Suns, 12-time All-Star Chris Paul is expected to move on from the desert during the 2023 offseason.

It has been reported that Paul has been notified that he will be waived, it’s also been reported that the Suns are exploring different options for the veteran point guard, including a trade.

In a recent appearance before the NBA Finals on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN mentioned multiple potential landing spots for Paul. Wojnarowski mentioned both the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, along with the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.

During the 2022-23 season with the Suns, Paul averaged 13.9 points on 44% shooting from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc to go along with 8.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 59 games.

Adding Paul to Golden State’s already crowded backcourt would give Steve Kerr another ballhandler to play alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole.

Following a second-round exit in the playoffs and with new leadership set to replace Bob Myers in the front office, a pivotal offseason is ahead of the Warriors.
