With their season officially over, an offseason with multiple key decisions are beginning to loom for the Golden State Warriors, starting with Draymond Green’s future in the Bay Area. The four-time All-Star has a $27.6 million player option for the upcoming 2023-24 season that he could turn down to hit unrestricted free agency.
According to Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors intend to discuss a new multi-year contract with Green during the offseason. If Green does hit free agency, the four-time NBA champion is expected to have other playoff-contending teams interested, per Charania and Slater.

Green has spent his entire career with the Warriors, winning four titles, a Defensive Player of the Year and earning four trips to the All-Star game since being drafted out of Michigan State in the 2012 NBA draft.
Green has made a significant impact alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson during Golden State’s deep runs through the postseason. While Curry and Thompson launch triples, Green has fueled Golden State’s defensive front.
During the 2022-23 season, Green earned an All-Defensive second-team nod while averaging 8.5 points on 52.7% shooting from the field with 7.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and a steal in 31.5 minutes per contest.
