Report: Vikings’ George Paton is first Broncos GM candidate to interview twice

Vikings assistant GM George Paton is the first Broncos candidate to interview twice for Denver’s open GM role.

Vikings assistant general manager George Paton is flying to Denver on Tuesday to meet with Broncos’ officials about their GM job, becoming the first Denver candidate to interview for the job twice, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Broncos GM position opened up when John Elway stepped down from his GM role with the team.

Paton has drawn interest from other NFL teams in the past and nothing has come to fruition. This offseason might be different, however.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano reported that “there’s a belief he’s more ready to make the move than in the past.”

Paton just finished up his 14th season with Minnesota. It remains to be seen whether he takes a role with another team this offseason. He also has garnered interest from the Detroit Lions for the team’s general manager position.
