REPORT: UCLA-Georgia football series still in the works

The Georgia-UCLA series could be hitting a roadbump…

The UCLA Bruins football program scheduled a series with the Georgia Bulldogs back in 2015. The games were initially set to take place in 2025 at the Rose Bowl and then in 2026 in Athens.

However, the status of this series is something they are “still working through”, per some recent comments by Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks (h/t Connor Riley of Dawg Nation).

“We’re still working through it. I would hope to have an update on that soon.”

Brooks gave these comments after the spring athletic board meetings recently, so this could be a concern for UCLA’s scheduling going forward.

Rewind back to March

Back in March, Brooks initially expressed some concern with the series between UCLA and Georgia, per Riley.

“With the evolution of the Big Ten schedule and our schedule, we’ve got to make decisions that are best for us and they’ve got to make decisions that are best for them. Everything is in play. We’ll see. It’s a fluid situation.”

In 2024, UCLA moves to the Big Ten, so Georgia could elect to play somebody else or play another conference opponent entirely depending on how everything works out.

If Georgia and UCLA can’t make a deal work, the Bruins will need to search fr a new pair of opponents for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
