Sacramento Kings rookie Tyrese Haliburton will reportedly miss the rest of the season with a left knee injury, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The report stated that an MRI revealed no ligament damage in his left knee and that surgery would not be required. Haliburton will likely miss the rest of the season due to the injury with just seven games left following Tuesday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Of course, Haliburton exited Sunday night’s win over the Dallas Mavericks early after landing awkwardly on his left leg. He was in visible pain following the sequence and eventually needed assistance to walk off of the court to the locker room.

Kings head coach Luke Walton said on Tuesday prior to playing the Thunder that the team was still in the process of gathering medical opinions on the injury and would likely reach a conclusion soon.
We are very optimistic still with Tyrese. We are working with multiple professionals as far as getting all of the opinions together. We have a whole group of our medical staff just making sure that all of the information that is given out is correct but we are optimistic.
The injury to Haliburton marks a disappointing end to what has been an impressive rookie season.
Haliburton will finish the year averaging 13 points, 5.3 assists and three rebounds in 58 games on 47.2% shooting from the field, including 40.9% from 3-point range. He ranks third in scoring average, second in assists, second in steals and third in 3-pointers among all rookies.
Given his strong play, Haliburton emerged as a darkhorse candidate to win Rookie of the Year while he is considered to be a near-lock to place on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
