Report: Trent Williams trade ‘still on the table’ for the Browns but nothing is imminent

Much of the focus with the No. 10 pick in Thursday night’s NFL draft on the offensive tackles, there is another path. Trading for a proven veteran tackle is the path less traveled in Browns draft scenarios. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Browns still have kept that pathway open, just in case.

At the end of that path is Washington’s Trent Williams. Previous Browns GM John Dorsey repeatedly tried to go down that path, but the previous Redskins regime refused to budge. With new management in both cities, there might be a clearer path to a trade if that’s what new Browns GM Andrew Berry seeks.

Keep in mind the Browns new offensive line coach is Bill Callahan, who was Williams’ position coach and interim head coach in Washington.

Anderson notes that trading for Williams is “still on the table” according to her Browns source, but that “nothing is imminent”. Stay tuned…
