Report: Titans releasing offensive lineman Kendall Lamm

The Titans are reportedly parting ways with offensive lineman Kendall Lamm.

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly set to release swing tackle and 2021 free-agent signing, Kendall Lamm. The news comes from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Lamm was signed to a two-year, $6.8 million contract last offseason and appeared in 12 games for Tennessee, making one start. The Titans will save a little over $3 million immediately by cutting Lamm loose.

The move doesn’t come as any surprise. Even when healthy and on the field, Lamm wasn’t exactly impressive, notching Pro Football Focus grades of 46.7 and 57.3 in pass protection and run-blocking, respectively.

With the Titans strapped for cash, and after seeing what the veteran brought to the table, paying Lamm $4 million this coming season simply wasn’t feasible. Tennessee can get the same or better from a cheaper option.

Lamm, who we predicted the Titans would cut earlier this offseason, is the first cut Tennessee has made and figures to be the first of multiple with the Titans being over the cap ahead of free agency.
