One of Texas’ primary targets for the 2022 recruiting cycle will reportedly announce his commitment on Monday, March 1.
Four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. is one of the top prospects on the defensive side of the ball that Texas coaches Blake Gideon and Pete Kwiatkowski are hoping to lock down sooner rather than later.
Less than a week ago, Allen released the top seven schools he was considering. Auburn, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Jacksonville State, and USC made the cut alongside Texas.
According to The Football Brainiacs (TFB), Allen is expected to announce his decision on Monday. The Longhorns appear to be the leader at the moment, as 247Sports crystal ball predictions have recently been entered in Texas’ favor.

Allen is listed as the No. 6 safety prospect in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports. The Aledo, Texas, native is a top-20 player in the state and top-60 player in the country.
In 2019, he was named the District 5-5A-II Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore. Texas originally extended an offer to Allen on Feb. 8 of last year under Tom Herman’s staff, and he took an unofficial visit to Austin on March 7, 2020.
Allen would be a major commitment on the defensive side of the ball for Steve Sarkisian’s already impressive 2022 class.
