According to KXAN News, the Texas football team has been medically cleared to return to outdoor team activities. The Longhorns are still dealing with COVID-19 issues within the program. At least 25 players and a few staff members had tested positive.

Activities had been shut down since Dec. 10 when Texas announced the positive tests.  The regular-season finale against Kansas was canceled due to the outbreak. It will not be rescheduled.

Texas finished the year at a 6-3 record, with losses to Iowa State, TCU, and Oklahoma.

Now, the focus will be shifted to their bowl game. KXAN News is also reporting that the bowl bid will be received on Sunday and Texas could play as early as Dec. 29.

In the latest bowl projections, the Longhorns are predicted to play against Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29. Played in Orlando, Florida, it would be the first time ever participated in the bowl game.
