The Houston Texans want to make sure they have overturned every stone in pursuit of the best coaching candidate.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Texans are scheduling second interviews with Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach and receivers coach David Culley.
The timing of the interviews come as the Kansas City Chiefs knocked the Bills out of the playoffs with a 38-24 win in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium. Frazier’s defense was unable to contain the Chiefs’ offense from its typical postseason explosion, despite Buffalo possessing a 9-0 lead early in the first quarter.
Hosuton was able to get a good look what Frazier’s defense could do against one of the top offenses in the league led by offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who is also a candidate for the Texans’ coaching job.
Frazier coached the Minnesota Vikings from 2010-13, compiling a 21-32-1 record in that span. Culley has never been a head coach in the NFL.
