The Buffalo Bills haven’t dipped their toe into the free agent market yet… but if they do, a report says that it could happen at the tight end position.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the first obvious step now for Buffalo was to re-sign their own pending free agents. Mission (mostly) accomplished there.
However, Dawson Knox might not want to get comfortable just yet:

On Monday, some teams in the NFL came out of the gate swinging during the tampering period. If the Bills are still to add to their tight end unit, it won’t be Jonnu Smith or Rob Gronkowski. Smith agreed to terms with the Patriots while Gronk re-signed with the Bucs.
The Patriots went on to add Hunter Henry into the mix on Tuesday.
But the Bills do still have some options, such as the Rams’ Gerald Everett, Saints’ Jared Cook, and Vikings’ Kyle Rudolph, who was already released.
If Buffalo does decide to bring another player into the picture, we might see less of Knox, but that doesn’t mean he’ll disappear. Not only is Knox under contract for 2021, Tyler Kroft is a pending free agent while Lee Smith already said he’s contemplating retirement. Any free agent signees would be taking their roster spots, not Knox’s, but Knox could be potentially moved down the depth chart.
