Report: Sixers to open up scrimmage play against Grizzlies on July 24

The Philadelphia 76ers will open up against the Memphis Grizzlies to begin scrimmage play in Orlando.

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting back to work to resume the 2019-20 season. They begin their final eight regular-season games on August 1 against the Indiana Pacers down in Orlando, but before those final eight games, there needs to be a sort of preseason part 2.

The 22 teams headed to Orlando will first play something the league is calling “scrimmage games” in order to get the teams back into the swing of things. These games will be played from July 22-28 before the official resumption day of July 30.

The Sixers will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on July 24 and then the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks to follow. These games will be nice warm-up scrimmages for them to get back into it a bit.

The season is getting closer to a resumption and the Sixers are now getting their second chance at a championship run. That means Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Al Horford get their chance to prove that they can work together and win in the playoffs. [lawrence-related id=34006,33997,33991]
