The Brooklyn Nets have made it through most of their offseason program as they have navigated the draft, free-agency, and the summer league. As they look towards training camp, it looks like one of the former Nets may be on another roster before next season begins.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, there are a few teams around the league that are interested in recently-waived Brooklyn guard Edmond Sumner. The teams that are interested in him are: the Charlotte Hornets, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Toronto Raptors, the Miami Heat, and the Phoenix Suns. Sumner, 27, was waived by the Nets earlier in July due to a roster crunch in which Sumner no longer had a surefire role for next season due to the additions of guards Dennis Smith Jr. and Lonnie Walker IV.
Sumner, native of Detroit, Michigan, came into the NBA as the 52nd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of the University of Xavier by the New Orleans Pelicans. After spending his first five seasons in the league with the Indiana Pacers following being traded to the Pacers from the Pelicans, Sumner came to the Nets as a free-agent in July of 2022.
